2004 is off to a great start. The show in Michigan was north of Flint and the event was a biker expo centering around the Orange County Choppers. The venue was a concrete and steel "hockey" type arena with the worst acoustics ever. With this challenge at hand, expert soundguy, Carl Davino, spent about 3 hours getting the sound dialed in. Carl can pretty much set up sound on any system for any room, but this was a tough one. As usual, he did an awesome job as did the band. The Set List: Home In My Hand Take Me To The River Drivin Wheel Self Medicated Sweet Home Fool For The City Wanna Make Love Mumbo Jumbo Slow Ride Charlie is always at his best in Michigan and he got a huge cheer from his hometown fans during the intros. It is amazing how these pros can conquer any circumstances. The promoters left the lights on during the performance so the Expo exhibitors could -uh-exhibit and the acoustics were very different sounding every ten feet. Foghat put on a great show and made everybody forget the obstacles and brought them all into the focus of Foghat. My hat's off to you boys--You make it look so easy. There was another challenge in that Roger's cymbals were held up in Florida and we had to stop a the Canton Michigan Guitar Center and buy a whole new set. So Roger had to play the evening with what the store had in stock. Again, a pro is a pro. Roger signed a drumhead for the drum deparment and thanked the great staff for their help. It was great to be able to help in this one. Anyway--Go see Foghat this year. I even heard rumblings of some great new additions to the set which I cannot discuss yet!!!!! Later RC
P.S. Here is a public apology to Carl Davino for stepping on your glasses. It was an accident and I should have been paying more attention. So Sorry. RC
